VW and Seat confirm seatbelt recall
Volkswagen and Seat have announced recalls for a number of models in their small car ranges due to an issue with seatbelt safety.
The recall covers the current Polo generation as well as the new Ibiza (2017 and 2018 models) and Arona (2018 model year). The issue lies with the seatbelt for the left-rear passenger, which could come unfastened when five people are seated in the car.
Recall work will see a redesigned belt lock fixture fitted and will start in the next few weeks. All work will be carried out free of charge.
Both carmakers stressed that safety is a top priority for them. For more of the latest industry news, click here.
