Zap-Map has launched a new subscription service, providing enhanced charging information services and including in-car support via Apple CarPlay.

With the top-level Zap-Map Premium package, subscribers can use the app in-car via CarPlay – with Android Auto to arrive soon

The new service builds on the app’s existing search, plan and pay services – which will remain free – and is targeted at drivers who regularly use the public charging network.

The two subscription services cover Zap-Map Plus and Zap-Map Premium.

Zap-Map Plus has been designed to help drivers plan public charging quicker by enabling them to filter by new charge points, multiple locations, user ratings and more detailed location types. Drivers can also view new chargers installed in the last 30 days and save more user filters and route plans – and they can add multiple vehicles. Plus subscribers can also view what3words locations for charge points and go ad-free on the app. An annual plan for Zap-Map Plus costs £2.49 per month.

The top-level Zap-Map Premium package builds on this by enabling subscribers to use the app in-car via CarPlay – and with Android Auto to arrive soon. This ensures that users can locate suitable charge points, view live charge point status and access route plans while they are on the move. Premium also allows drivers to save unlimited filters, route plans and EV models. An annual plan for Zap-Map Premium costs £3.99 per month.

Alongside the new subscription services, Zap-Map has also upgraded the existing app. New features bring improved EV model selection, updated connector filters, and an all-new router planner mode, dubbed ‘Autoroute’.

The new version of Zap-Map app, which includes Zap-Map Plus and Premium options is available now to download from the App Store for iOS devices and will be available on Android devices by the end of June. Download here.
