Fleet World Fleet: Volvo XC60 D4 R-Design

The XC60 has a very active presence in the Collins household.

Thee Xenium Pack features a 360° camera
surround view

£2,000 is a lot of money for an option pack in a car, but in my XC60’s case, I think it’s money well spent on the Xenium Pack. Simply because, thanks to its 360-degree camera surround view, I think it’s changed my driving for the better.

With four cameras: one at each door, plus one at the front and the rear, I find myself looking at the XC60’s Sensus infotainment screen, rather than looking back through the rear window when manoeuvring – the resolution is good enough and I really miss having it when driving other cars.

Another feature of the Xenium Pack that impresses is the Park Assist Pilot. I live on a busy street, and although the XC60 is easy to steer, I really appreciate this Volvo parking itself. It does a pretty good job too, although it does seem to struggle to get really close to the kerb in smaller spaces.

Problems? The R-Design has a bit of an image issue, as it’s not at all sporty to drive. I must also find time to get the damage I mentioned in the last report fixed too!
