Calum Slowther appointed new Engineius managing director

Vehicle movement specialist Engineius has promoted commercial director Calum Slowther to the role of managing director, continuing work to ramp up its profile with fleets.

Calum Slowther, managing director at Engineius

Slowther joined Engineius as its first-ever employee in 2017 and has been instrumental in its growth, working closely with the founders and potential clients to understand the market opportunity. This fed into the design of the proposition and technology platform shortly after.

Since Engineius officially launched in 2018, his focus has been largely on growth of Engineius’ customer base and order volumes; the business has scored commitment to high levels of work from a strong base of blue chip clients, including exclusive contracts with large corporate fleets and retailers.

Slowther will now assume responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Engineius business, which provides tech-enabled vehicle movement to clients across all automotive sectors, including corporate fleets, SMR, rental, leasing, dealerships, remarketing and breakdown services.

He commented: “I am very excited to be taking on the managing director role at Engineius. We have a huge opportunity ahead of us after making a great start, which has proven the strong demand for the service we have brought to market.

“Our mission for the next phase of our growth is clear – we will demonstrate that we can give customers the same control and confidence as they would get if they operated vehicle logistics in house, but with the flexibility of sharing a now very large network with many other clients and the enhanced user experience our technology stack provides them with.

“We have work to do to achieve this but I am determined we will make this happen. The key to doing so will be people. We will create a company where employees learn a lot, love coming to work and get rewarded for delivering excellence.”

Chris Clibbery, director and founder of Engineius, said the structural change was necessary to ensure continued growth for the business: “Calum has played a pivotal role throughout our transition and growth, from our pre-launch period in 2017 to where the business is now.

“He has built up a wealth of business and industry knowledge to now direct Engineius’ operations and people. On behalf of the Engineius board, I am confident that this combined with Calum’s drive to succeed will push the business forward at pace.”
