The company already provides connected car technologies to the usage-based insurance and daily rental markets and is now targeting significant growth from Mobility as a Service (MaaS) providers, from car clubs to peer-to-peer car sharing platforms.

Group CEO Nick Corrie said that as traditional car ownership evolves to create new usage patterns and behaviours, this will in turn create new profiles of risk. He added: “The only way for insurers, automotive manufacturers and fleet operators to gain real-time insights around these emerging behaviours is by connecting and monitoring their assets via telemetry.”

The new Fleet and Mobility Solutions division, which will be run by Alan Cottrill as MD, will incorporate all activities related to TGG’s incumbent fleet and rental customers, as well as providing a platform for future collaborations and product development.
