Peugeot supports frontline services with new 1,500+ public sector fleet

Peugeot is continuing its work to support the public sector after receiving an order for more than 1,500 new cars and vans.

So far this year, Peugeot has delivered 611 vehicles to the 38 forces included within the order

The order, which covers 38 different police and fire services, has already seen the brand deliver 611 vehicles so far this year, despite the difficulties imposed by the pandemic. The deliveries include Partner, Expert and Boxer vans but also the 308 and 308 SW, 3008 and 5008 SUVs and the 208.

Peugeot also said it’s seeing significant take-up of its e-208 electric supermini, which launched in January this year, as a growing number of police and fire services turn to electric and hybrid vehicles – a total of 13% of the vehicles ordered from the brand this year have been full electric.

All of the vehicles supplied are being used either for operational or support purposes and Peugeot has also continued to support police and fire services with loan vehicles at no cost.

This includes West Midlands Police, which has made use of loan vehicles to enable its frontline and local community work throughout the lockdown period.

Gary Mallett, fleet manager – West Midlands Police, said: “Peugeot have provided eight loan vehicles to us throughout the period the UK has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These vehicles are used as support and back-up vehicles for West Midlands Police. This in turn has ensured West Midlands Police can support the communities we serve.”
