Peugeot announces 208 and e-208 pricing and specifications

UK prices and specification for the second-generation Peugeot 208 and fully-electric e-208 have been revealed, in time for deliveries starting early next year.

The all-new 208, is the first to follow Peugeot’s new philosophy of the power of choice –  i.e. ‘choose your Peugeot, choose your powertrain’. To do this, there’s the option of diesel, petrol or all-electric powertrains, plus Active, Allure and GT Line trim levels.

All 208s include the new Peugeot i-Cockpit with a compact multifunction steering wheel, configurable head-up display, either a 7-inch or 10-inch HD colour touchscreen (according to version) and seven satin chrome ‘piano’ toggle switches. The interior can then be personalised with a choice of eight LED mood lighting colours.

Also available is Peugeot Connect SOS and Assistance, programmable Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility.

Entry-level Active trim starts from £16,250, with the e-208 Active costing from £25,050, including the UK plug-in car grant (as do all following e-208 prices).

Key standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels (steel wheels for the e-208), Active Safety Brake with pedestrian detection, electric and heated door mirrors, LED daytime running lights with Peugeot’s unique ‘Tooth’ design. Additionally, the e-208 in Active trim adds pre-heating functionality and automatic air conditioning.

Allure starts from £18,850 for the all-new 208 and £26,250 for the all-new e-208. Allure models add 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (16-inch alloy wheels on e-208), a gloss black B-pillar, tri-material ‘Cozy’ leather-effect seat trim with double stitch detail, the 3D i-Cockpit® with configurable 3D head-up instrument panel. Allure trim also features Peugeot’s signature ‘Claw Effect’ full LED 3D rear-light clusters.

GT Line models include front and rear parking sensors and 180 degree reversing camera. Other standard kit includes 17-inch wheels across petrol, diesel and EV models, Active Safety Brake with Night function, cyclist and pedestrian detection, eight-colour ambient interior lighting, and full LED headlights with Peugeot Smartbeam Assist. You’ll be able to spot a GT Line by the gloss black wheel arch extensions, twin chrome exhausts (on petrol and diesel models) and a Diamond Black roof. Prices start from £20,700 for the all-new 208 GT Line and £28,100 (subject to approval) for the all-new e-208 GT Line.

The all-new e-208 is also available exclusively in range-topping GT trim. Priced at £29,650, GT models have fully automated parking assistance, adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Positioning Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring. Inside, GT models have heated front seats, a larger 10-inch capacitive colour touchscreen and Connected 3D Navigation.

The all-new 208 is also available with a choice of four advanced petrol engines and one highly efficient diesel. Plus, Peugeot’s first new generation, 100% electric vehicle, the e-208 which uses a 50kWh battery and 136hp electric motor to provide a 211 mile range from a full charge under the WLTP testing. There are three electric driving modes to choose from too; Sport, Normal and Eco. Rapid charging is uspported up to 100kWh, with an 80% charge claimed to take just 30 minutes.

The e-208 also features unique styling to set the electric model apart, including a body coloured chequered front grille, a bespoke ‘e’ monogram on the C-pillar and a dichroic (crystal) Lion, which changes colour from different angles.
