Get ahead of the electric vehicle curve at Fleet Heroes Conference
With pressure building on the future UK government to bring forward plans to ban sales of “conventional” new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, expert advice from this month’s Fleet Heroes Conference could help fleets get ahead of the game.
Prior to last week’s dissolution of Parliament ahead of the general election, calls had been building for a revision of the 2040 target, with the Committee on Climate Change having previously said that the ban should be set at 2035 at the latest.
To help fleets prepare for the migration to electric vehicles, the 2019 Fleet Heroes Conference on Thursday 28 November 2019 will bring a packed event line-up, enabling operators to get up-to-speed with technological developments, recent government policies and gain innovative, practical ideas from fleets across the country. Attendance is free and you can find the full agenda and registrations here.
Taking place at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, the conference will be followed by the Fleet Heroes Awards, which will once again celebrate organisations that are delivering a cleaner and more efficient future for transport. Last year’s awards saw fleets including local authorities, public sector organisations and distribution firms have secured recognition for their work in advancing ultra-low emission vehicle take-up.
Finalists for this year’s Awards have already been revealed and include well-known fleet names, ranging from DPD and Brecon Beacons National Park Authority to Volkswagen Financial Services and the Environment Agency.
