Close Brothers Asset Finance expands transport offering with two key appointments

Close Brothers Asset Finance has made two transport appointments – in the Corporate and Dealer sectors – as it continues to expand in the sector.

Jonathan Cooley, corporate sales manager at Close Brothers Asset Finance

Jonathan Cooley joins the company in the newly-created role of corporate sales manager. His primary focus will be the transport and logistics sector, dealing with SME fleet operators, drawing on his near 20 years’ experience gained at some of the major names in the asset finance sector.

In addition, Alan Cardy joins as dealer manager with the responsibility of bringing onboard new dealership opportunities and covering HP, lease purchase or finance lease. He brings significant experience in the truck and van sector, having spent his whole career to date with Mercedes-Benz commercial dealership Orwell Truck and Van, where he was in the top two retail van salesmen in the UK for Mercedes-Benz.

Andrew Buswell, sales director for Close Brothers Asset Finance’s Transport division, commented: “Jonathan and Chris continue the company’s tradition of bringing in experts who speak our customers’ language. This was particularly important because these are newly-created roles and we needed to bring in individuals of the highest calibre who were able to hit the ground running and quickly establish themselves in their respective areas.

“Bringing them on board is a continued demonstration of our long-standing commitment to supporting the transport SME community through all economic cycles.”
