Volkswagen extends scrappage scheme

Volkswagen is now running its scrappage scheme until 2 April 2018, providing drivers with incentives of up to £6,000 on selected new petrol/diesel and plug-in hybrid/electric cars.

Volkswagen e-Golf

The VW scrappage scheme includes the Passat GTE, e-up and e-Golf.

Launched at the start of September, the scheme was originally due to run until the end of this year and enables drivers to trade in diesel vehicles of any make/model with pre-Euro 5 emissions standards and registered before 2010. To date, almost 5,000 vehicles have been scrapped.

The highest incentives of £6,000 are offered on the Sharan and Passat GTE while the Passat Saloon and Estate and Arteon qualify for incentives of £5,000.

New models need to be ordered by 2 April 2018 and delivered by 30 June 2018.
