Role of mobility managers to rise to the forefront

Martin Quail, chief commercial officer, Alphabet, said: 'As businesses’ corporate travel requirements get increasingly complex, the pace of technological changes gets even quicker and the lines between the responsibilities of Fleet Management, Finance, HR, Procurement and Logistics continue to blur, we will see new mobility strategies emerge to emphasise flexibility, transparency and efficiency.

'Fleet management will no longer be merely about company cars and their financing, but providing a wide range of options for getting employees from A to B, and optimising the total cost of mobility.

'As a result, we can expect to see the introduction of "Mobility Managers" within organisations – a wide-ranging, strategically important position that is responsible for "connecting the dots" within the company in order to more effectively meet the business travel needs of the organisation and its employees.'
