Hydrogen fuel cell cars to become viable option for UK fleets

Richard Schooling, CEO, Alphabet, said: 'If there’s one thing we’re certain to see this year it’s an increase in alternative fuel vehicles in the UK, as companies look to reduce their emissions and improve efficiency. Toyota has already announced that its first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell car will go on sale in the UK this year and we can expect to see the first use of such vehicles among forward-thinking corporate fleets.

'Not only can hydrogen powered vehicles be re-fuelled faster than electric vehicles, but it can also power larger, heavier commercial vehicles. As we have seen with electric vehicles, while the early adoption is expected to be small, this will increase over the coming years as the required infrastructure to support these vehicles improves and develops.'
