Pricing and specs revealed for new Ford Kuga

Ford has announced pricing and specification details for the third-generation Kuga, which arrives next year complete with plug-in hybrid versions.

The all-new Ford Kuga

Revealed earlier this year, the third-gen Kuga is larger than its forebear, predictably increasing interior space, despite incorporating a hybrid battery.

Priced from £23,995, the line-up will include petrols, diesels and a 225hp plug-in hybrid featuring a 2.5-litre Atkinson petrol engine that enables it to deliver WLTP fuel economy of 201mpg and NEDC CO2 emissions of 26g/km. The PHEV can operate on electric power only, enabling electric only driving for approximately 35 miles powered by the 14.4kWh battery pack.

The starting point for the range is the Zetec trim, which features FordPass Connect embedded mode, wireless charging and advanced driver assistance and safety features as standard.

However, it’ll initially be offered in high-specification First Edition Titanium, ST-Line and ST-Line X versions, available with all powertrains and bringing extensive driver assistance and safety features as standard, as well as sporty interior and exterior design cues and sports suspension, with 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Ford Kuga Titanium First Edition, from £28,145, features B&O premium audio system and driver’s assistance pack as standard including front and rear view cameras, Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition.

The top-spec ST-Line X First Edition starts from £31,845 and includes Handsfree Power Tailgate, panoramic roof and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The Titanium First Edition plug-in hybrid is available for £33,995 on the road, priced the same as 2.0-litre EcoBlue 190PS engine.

“The all-new Ford Kuga is our first passenger vehicle to offer plug-in hybrid technology, alongside a full line-up of other options to give our customers a comprehensive engine choice,” said Lisa Brankin, passenger vehicle director, Ford of Britain. “Matched with a contemporary design, advanced technology, driver assistance and safety features, the all-new Kuga represents the best in one package.”
