Pick the ALD team’s brains on mobility and alternatively fuelled vehicles at 2020 GBFE

ALD Automotive is bringing its knowhow in smart mobility and alternatively fuelled vehicles to this month’s Great British Fleet Event to help operators get to grips with the latest industry challenges.

ALD has been trialling battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles for a number of years

Today’s fleet sector has vastly evolved from 10 or even 5 years ago, as climate change rises up the agenda, spearheaded by the Government’s Road to Zero Strategy, which aims for at least half of new cars to be ultra-low emission by 2030 and for the sale of new, conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans to end by 2040. With the Government coming under increasing pressure to bring these dates forwards, including from the Committee on Climate Change, further change could be on the horizon.

In addition to this, the switch to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test – which provides a more accurate ‘real-world’ representation of the emissions produced by vehicles – and the growing number of charging Clean Air Zones under discussion are adding to the pressure for fleets to turn to plug-in vehicles.

That’s where ALD Automotive can help, drawing on its vast experience in helping customers switch powertrain and also in trialling battery- electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles hybrids vehicles for a number of years.

Building on this expertise, ALD Automotive has developed a programme that helps fleets see whether they are ready to ‘go electric’ with a six-month trial of electric vehicles before they commit to EVs as part of their fleet.

ALD’s Business Intelligence and Consultancy Team enable fleets to gain full insight into all aspects of running EVs – from charging infrastructure to incentives and grants and the cost savings offered by electric vehicles, shown through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analytics; all in advance of making a long-term commitment.

And it’s this specialism that ALD Automotive will be bringing to bear as one of a number of businesses taking part at the exhibition and networking area of the Great British Fleet Event, which takes place on 30 January at the Novotel London West and is free to attend.

In addition, Matt Dale, Head of ALD’s Business Intelligence and Consultancy Team, will be speaking to attendees about the key mobility opportunities for today’s fleets as part of the Mobility Masterclass in the Great British Fleet Event conference section.

The event’s morning exhibition and conference will also be followed by an awards lunch and ceremony, revealing those car/van manufacturers, fleet suppliers and fleet managers at the vanguard of the industry.
