Mercedes-Benz EQA electric crossover now on sale
Order books are now open for the Mercedes-Benz EQA electric crossover, which is priced from £40,495 (incl. Plug-in Grant).
It forms the lead-in to the carmaker’s growing EQ electric range alongside the EQC and the EQV MPV.
The initial EQA 250 model has a 190hp output motor and a 66.5kWh battery, giving 375Nm of torque, a 0-62mph time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 99mph, while WLTP range stands at 263 miles.
Thanks to the 100kW DC onboard charger, it can charge from 10 to 80% in around 40 minutes. Using a 11kw wallbox, a charge from 10 to 100% takes five hours and 45 minutes.
Two trims are available: Sport and AMG Line. Both come with Navigation with Electric Intelligence as standard along with a three-year subscription to the Mercedes me Charge public charging service.
EQA 250 Sport models also get cruise control, parking package with reversing camera, automatic climate control, MBUX multimedia system with widescreen cockpit (two 10-inch digital displays with touchpad), smartphone integration including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 18-inch alloys and heated front seats.
The AMG Line trim – priced at £41,995 including Plug-in Grant (although, as with the Sport model, approval is still pending from OZEV) – adds AMG Line bodystyling, 20-inch alloy wheels, sports seats in artico man-made leather and microfibre, aluminium trims and EQA detailing.
An optional Premium package – available on AMG Line only – can be added for an additional £3,000 and includes 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, electrically operated panoramic glass sunroof, Keyless-Go Comfort package, augmented reality navigation system, advanced sound system and wireless charging for compatible smartphones.
The Premium Plus package includes the above equipment, but adds 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, parking package with 360-degree camera; electrically adjustable damping suspension with speed-sensitive steering, Burmester Surround Sound System, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, head-up display and MBUX Interior Assistant with gesture control. The Premium Plus package costs an additional £6,000 over AMG Line.
First UK deliveries are expected spring 2021.
