Hyundai appoints ex-Lamborghini director to head new luxury brand

Effective from the start of this month, the role is based at the carmaker’s headquarters in Seoul, where Fitzgerald will be in charge of marketing and brand strategies aimed at getting a foothold among the premium marques.

In his 12-year career at Lamborghini, he was part of the brand’s ten-fold sales increase as it established itself as a luxury car brand. He joins former Volkswagen Group design director, Luc Donckerwolke, who was appointed head of Hyundai’s Prestige Design Division in November.
