Hudson Kapel expands Scratch & Dent facility to accommodate increased fleet business

Available on vehicles up to two or three years old, the service provides a totally transparent approach to the business of remarketing, together with the expert knowledge and specialist buying expertise provided by the company. The major benefit to companies is the transfer of responsibility for disposing of these vehicles, which is not core to their business activities.

The Scratch and Dent facility has proved to be so successful that over the last few years the company dealt with the sale of over 27,000 vehicles. In response, Hudson Kapel has opened a northern England facility based near Bolton, Lancashire. The new facility is modelled on the original site in Bedfordshire, which remains in place and continues to process an increasing number of vehicles.

‘We have invested heavily in our Scratch and Dent service,' said Hudson Kapel managing director, Simon Withey, ‘and the opening of our new facility near Bolton is designed to provide to customers a more comprehensive and national service.'

Hudson Kapel has invested in new technologies with its Scratch and Dent service including wi-fi access, assisting buyers in making bids but also allows them to keep in touch with their own business environment. Sales will now take place at both locations every week and registered buyers are able to login to the company’s website to view details of the vehicle for sale and then submit “sealed” bids online up to 1pm on the closing day, which is normally Wednesday.
