Geotab brings generative AI to fleet analytics with new ‘Project G’

Geotab has unveiled a new tool that enables fleets to use the power of generative AI to transform data interactions.

Project G provides an all-new way for fleet managers to deploy the power of generative AI in their fleets

Introduced in a beta launch, its new Project G provides an intelligent assistant that enables customers to ask questions through a chat interface about their vehicle fleet on areas including vehicle performance, idling times, fuel economy, vehicle usage, cost savings, and more.

Customers can use a simple and natural chat-based interface to ask questions such as “How much fuel did my fleet waste due to idling last month?” or “How have EVs been adopted in my fleet over the last year?”.

They then receive immediate data-driven insights that can be used to easily identify trends and patterns, uncover areas for improvement, and gain recommendations for operational efficiency – based on real-world data.

It’s seen as the future of connected transportation analytics, and an all-new way for fleet managers to deploy the power of generative AI in their fleets.

Mike Branch, vice president of data & analytics at Geotab, said: “With Project G, we’re taking a giant leap forward in demonstrating the impact of generative AI in the connected transportation landscape. We’ve long been recognised as leaders in data intelligence and AI, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning models for years. This breadth of experience presents us with a unique opportunity to analyse vast amounts of fleet data, identify patterns, and generate invaluable recommendations to optimise operational efficiency and performance.”

The project draws on Geotab’s strong history of AI innovation, with one of the industry’s largest data science teams, dedicated to data and artificial intelligence, and with a global presence spanning 165 countries. The company also processes more than 55 billion data points daily across more than 3.6 million connected vehicles.

“The beta project is an exciting collaboration with select customers. We are able to align real-world requirements and challenges with data science expertise to learn, adapt and evolve capabilities. The possibilities are limitless, and we’re committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that make data easily accessible for our customers,” added Branch.

Project G is available globally and exclusively accessible to Geotab customers who subscribe to Geotab Data Connector. More information is available here, where customers can register to join the waitlist.
