Fleet World Fleet: SEAT Mii Electric

Tax and fuel costs change frequently, but one thing has remained constant – electric cars offer big company savings, and never more so than since changes made in April that sees EVs benefit from 0% BiK for the 2020/21 tax year.

The SEAT Mii Electric makes a strong case for itself

P11d (BiK): £22,745 (0%) CO2: 0g/km Test MPG: 26.9mpg Range: 160 miles Test Range/MPkWh: 179 miles/5.4mpkWh

Add to that the allure of what is essentially tax-free ‘fuel’ (read: electricity) and the promise of lower service, maintenance and repair, and an electric fleet has never made more sense.

However, electric motoring a la carte is somewhat restricted at the budget end of the menu, with only a handful of models to choose from. Plus, excepting Kia, electric vehicle quotas for the UK are conspicuous by their absence too.

Nonetheless, if you can get your hands on one and its diminutive size suits your needs, the SEAT Mii Electric makes a strong case for itself. It’s cheaper than the Volkswagen equivalent and Škoda has just dropped the matching Citigo  iV too, while smart’s electric range doesn’t offer any rapid charging ability which is just plain daft.

I’m therefore looking forward to seeing how the Mii Electric’s 160-mile range fares, how it fits into my lifestyle and while also only using a three-pin plug for power at home (at least initially).
