Clymac installs tracking on mixed fleet to enhance customer service

The company has signed up with Ctrack and will use its web-based Ctrack Online system to monitor a fleet of 37 cars and vans.

Replacing an existing tracking system, the new solution will predominantly comprise hardwired tracking units along with a small number of self-installed devices, which connect quickly and easily to a vehicle’s OBD II diagnostic port and will be used in hire vehicles for new starters.

Clymac will use the tracking system to identify best-placed and most appropriate engineer, so it can quickly and efficiently respond to reactive issues.

In addition, the cars will be fitted with a simple dashboard-mounted button to switch between business and private use. This will provide employees with complete privacy without any visibility of their activity when driving outside of working hours. When the private mode is activated the online portal blocks out the vehicle’s location.

Mark Connolly, operations manager at Clymac, commented: “We have worked closely with Ctrack to implement a highly-effective vehicle tracking solution across our car fleet. We look forward to it becoming an important tool within our operation to ensure we are achieving highly effective engineering support nationwide along with optimum levels of customer service.”
