AA to reveal tech breakthrough in new webinar

By / 2 months ago / Latest News / 2 Comments

The AA’s business services division is hosting a webinar to launch its latest roadside innovation, the Freewheeling Hub.

The Freewheeling Hub enables AA Patrols to safely tow vehicles such as electric vehicles and 4x4s, which can’t normally be lifted and towed on two wheels

Taking place on 25 February 2021, the webinar will introduce the new concept and explain its benefits to drivers and fleets running electric vehicle and 4x4s.

Revealed last month, the Freewheeling Hub enables AA Patrols to safely tow vehicles such as electric vehicles and 4x4s, which can’t normally be lifted and towed on two wheels. This will result in shorter waiting times and reduced CO2 emissions.

It’s already used by more than half of AA patrols and will be rolled out to all remaining patrols in the coming months.

The webinar will be hosted by Dean Hedger, the AA’s EV new business development manager, joined by Gavin Franks, director of business services; Steve Ives, chief engineer; and Edmund King, AA president.

Attendees will get the chance to have their questions answered during a Q&A session.

Gavin Franks said: “One of our main priorities is giving drivers the confidence of knowing that we’re behind them at every step and the Freewheeling Hub does exactly this. It’s a game-changer for recovering EVs and 4x4s and it’s making a real difference to drivers of these vehicles at the point of breakdown compared to our competitors.”
