2017 Fleet Hero finalists revealed

Fleets including British Gas and West Yorkshire Police have been short-listed for the 2017 Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards.

Now in their 12th year, the awards showcases organisations, suppliers and manufacturers at the forefront of sustainable fleet management.

The award line-up also includes the Unsung Fleet Hero, sponsored by Fleet World, with this year’s shortlist featuring Matt Dale of ALD Automotive, Tusker’s David Hosking and Darren Smith of Heathrow Airport.

This year’s awards also feature an Ultra-low Emission Infrastructure accolade recognising fleet managers and transport planners who are showcasing best practice when planning and installing charging equipment for plug-in vehicles – with possible winners covering Heathrow Airport, Hydrogen Hub and London Borough of Hackney.

In total, 28 fleets and suppliers are short-listed for the awards, which take place at the Museum of London Docklands on 9 November and will again be hosted by actor and TV presenter Robert Llewellyn who has recently forged a strong position for himself as an automotive journalist and an expert on green cars.

The awards are preceded by the EST’s conference in the afternoon, which covers the latest developments in fleet sustainability, air quality management, low-emission vehicles. This year’s conference will include expert speakers from the Department for Transport, Emissions Analytics, Highways England, Nottingham City Council, University of Leeds and Z-Tech Control Systems to discuss the joint challenges of tackling air quality and carbon emissions. Edmund King, AA president, will provide the keynote speech.
