WheelRight launches mobile version of TPMS system for cars & CVs

Launched at the Seeing is Believing industry event supported by the Highways Agency, the system measures tyre pressure on vehicles including cars and commercial vehicles and then sends readings to the user’s mobile phone.

Companies can now also trial the mobile device for a 24-hour period to gain accurate tyre pressure readings for vehicles in their fleet. Fleets will be able to see for themselves the immediate benefits of moving from monthly to daily pressure checks in gaining instant tyre pressure readings for each vehicle when upgrading to an installed unit.

‘The importance of regular tyre pressure monitoring has long been recognised by the industry, but the barriers that surround manual checking are well known,’ said WheelRight chief executive John Catling. ‘We believe that the implementation of our monitoring system will offer operators a simple, robust solution to the age-old problem of reliable tyre checking.’

Catling is calling on operators to move to daily tyre checks from the industry standard of four to six weeks to improve safety and cut costs across their fleets.

‘Commercial fleet managers have only been able to check their tyre pressures on a monthly basis so far with the technology that is currently available,’ Catling added. ‘We’re offering them the opportunity to embrace the benefits of daily tyre pressure checks, which will deliver both substantial improvements in cost reduction and safety across their fleets. Operators can now gain peace of mind as we help them to take control of their tyre pressure monitoring in instantly providing the accurate and robust data they need to run their fleets safely and cost effectively.’
