Volvo V60 and V90 estates back in UK due to popular demand!

Volvo’s much-loved V60 and V90 estates are returning to the UK on the back of surging demand for family wagons.

The V60 and V90 will go back on sale in July, with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines

The popular load-luggers will go back on sale in July, available in Plus and Ultra trim levels and with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.

The V60 will be available as a B4 mild-hybrid petrol and in T6 and T8 plug-in hybrid guise. The V90 will be available as a plug-in hybrid only. Prices are yet to be announced.

The duo arrive back less than a year after they were axed due to a surge in demand in estate cars. However, their S60 and S90 counterparts are not being revived.

The Swedish brand announced in August 2023 that it was axing all saloons and estates from its UK line-up to focus on high-demand SUV models, although it later confirmed that it would continue sales of V60 and V90, together with their Cross Country variants, to emergency services fleets.

A Volvo UK spokesperson said: “We removed the V60 and V90 from sale in the UK last August amid falling appetite for estate cars. While this remains a long-term trend, we have seen a resurgence for our estate products in recent months and have decided to reintroduce the V60 and V90 to our UK portfolio in response to this. We will begin taking orders next month.

“When operating in a fast-moving industry, we continually re-evaluate our product portfolio to ensure we have the right mix to serve all our customers. As part of this process, it is not uncommon for us to remove certain models or derivatives from sale and reintroduce them later.

“We were thrilled by the many comments from customers and media last year, with many stories and memories of how our estate cars have been a huge part of their lives. We look forward to helping create more.”
