Trakm8 opens search for Road Safety Hero in support of Brake Road Safety Week

Trakm8’s quest to find the UK’s Road Safety Hero has returned for 2023, honouring drivers who go above and beyond to ensure the safety of Britain’s roads.

The competition, now in its second year and open for entries here, will once again support Brake’s Road Safety Week. This year’s campaign takes place from 19 to 25th November and seeks to spark a crucial conversation about why speeding is still regarded as acceptable in some contexts, the consequences of such behaviour, and the compelling case for reducing speed to save lives.

It’s a subject that Trakm8 is picking up for its Road Safety Hero award, which will recognise exceptional drivers who prioritise road safety, with a keen focus on their speeding records.

The fleet technology specialist is extending an open invitation to all UK fleet managers, inviting them to nominate a deserving driver from their fleet as the Road Safety Hero 2023.

Nick Guise, group marketing manager at Trakm8, said: “This year’s Road Safety Week theme, ‘Let’s talk about speed,’ inspires us to find a driver who passionately embodies this idea, actively contributing to road safety and serving as a beacon for their fellow fleet drivers. In the UK, five people succumb to road fatalities daily, and as a fleet technology provider, we see it as our mission to bolster road safety through education and monitoring driver behaviour, particularly regarding speeding.”

All fleet managers need to do to enter is click here and nominate their road safety hero from their fleet. All entries will be diligently reviewed by Trakm8, with the top five to be revealed at the start of Road Safety Week through its social media platforms.

The ultimate winner will be unveiled during ‘Fleet Friday’ at the week’s end. Deadline for entries will be Friday 17th November at 5pm.

The victorious driver will win a weekend two-night luxury lake district break for two at the Langdale Hotel, alongside the esteemed title of Road Safety Hero, and a certificate of recognition.

Last year’s inaugural winner was a dedicated E.On smart meter technician, hailed for her unwavering commitment to promoting road safety within her immediate team and across the energy company’s extensive workforce.
