Toyota announces Aygo prices

On sale from 1st July, the new model will be priced from £8,595. However, an initial customer saving offer of £600 brings the starting price down to £7,995 – below sister models, the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108.

Available in three and five-door bodystyles, the new Aygo offers more personalisation options than the brand says it has ever offered before. Toyota adds that ‘in spite of the huge number of possible permutations, with up to 10 interchangeable elements, customers will not face a long wait for their bespoke new Aygo to arrive, nor will they face huge extra cost’. The customisation packs are said to be keenly priced and they are fitted by Toyota in the UK, to customer order, at a new hub set up at Toyota Manufacturing UK’s Burnaston factory in Derbyshire.

Three grades are on offer – x, x-play and x-pression – plus two special editions, x-cite and x-clusiv.

Standard kit includes 14-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, electric front windows, ABS and Vehicle Stability Control with Hill-start Assist Control plus driver, front passenger and curtain airbags and tyre pressure monitor.

The mid-spec x-play trim adds 15-inch wheels, piano black front X finish, body colour matched doorhandles and mirrors, leather steering wheel, 50:50 split folding rear seats, air con and Bluetooth amongst other items, whilst the top-spec x-pression brings 15-inch alloys, piano black detailing on the rear and A-pillar, front fogs, part leather seats, rear-view camera – said to be a first in its class – and the x-touch multimedia system with MirrorLink. This trim can also be specified in x-tra convenience, which adds automatic air conditioning,  dusk-sensing headlights and Smart Entry and push-button start.

The special-edition x-cite and x-clusiv models can be upgraded with the x-tra premium pack, which adds leather seat upholstery and Smart Entry and Start.

There’s also an OUTshine pack that adds extra chrome touches to the exterior of the x-pression model, and an OUTshield pack – available on all versions bar the entry-level x – which adds front and rear parking sensors, a boot liner, aluminium scuff plates, rubber floor mats and mud flaps.

In total 14 versions are on offer, with prices ranging up to £12,395 for the x-clusiv three-door.
