Tony Greenidge to step down as IAM RoadSmart CEO

IAM RoadSmart CEO Tony Greenidge is to step down after four years with the road safety charity.

Tony Greenidge will stay on as CEO at IAM RoadSmart until the end of March 2022

Greenidge originally joined IAM RoadSmart as business development director and took over as CEO 18 months ago. He will remain in his position until the end of March 2022 and will work closely with the Trustees to prepare the path for the next CEO.

Greenidge said: “We have delivered excellent financial results during the 18-month pandemic period to date and as we embark on an exciting phase in our history underpinned by a new five-year strategic plan, this is a key time for IAM RoadSmart. After much contemplation, I feel it is important that the CEO who takes our charity forward into a new phase of change and strategic growth remains in place to see it through to completion.”

He added that the charity’s significant investment in technology, infrastructure and product development would enable it to support businesses, including with traditional company cars and the growing number of grey fleet drivers.

Greenidge continued: “The recruitment that has taken place over the last 12 months means that the new CEO inherits a highly skilled team, and I will watch with interest as IAM RoadSmart goes from strength to strength.”

Chairman Stuart Donald commented: “Tony has achieved a lot in the last four years, and we respect his decision to step down. It is a pivotal time for IAM RoadSmart as we progress and adapt for future challenges, so I am pleased that Tony will continue to lead the charity for the next five months to help with a smooth transition.”

Last month also saw IAM RoadSmart announce the appointment of Tony Cearns and Samantha Kane to its council. Cearns joins as chair of its Finance and Audit Committee and Kane will lead on HR matters and chairing the Remuneration Committee.
