Škoda Karoq SUV now available as fully converted blue light vehicle

Škoda has added a fully converted Karoq rapid response vehicle to its expanding emergency services vehicle line-up.

The Karoq SUV will be used across police, ambulance and fire and rescue services, converted by Škoda’s in-house bespoke team

It’s available for all blue light service fleets – police, ambulance, and fire and rescue – and offers benefits including low running costs and multi-terrain SUV capabilities, thanks to its rugged design, raised ride height and the availability of all-wheel drive.

It also provides practicality and class-leading space for passengers and essential specialist equipment. The VarioFlex seating option delivers up to 588 litres of boot space, extending to 1,810 litres with the seats fully removed. The luggage compartment also comes with a roll-out tray.

Adapted by the brand’s bespoke ‘one-stop-shop’ conversion service, the vehicle provides 360-degree visibility thanks to powerful LED signal lights built into the front screen, grille, tailgate and number plate – all complemented by a 100-amp three-tone siren. It also features a back-up electricity source.

Škoda’s in-house bespoke converters also equip it with a fully integrated communications platform that works in harmony with the standard 8-inch infotainment system.

The Karoq rapid response vehicle is available with a choice of five EVO powertrains: two diesel and three petrol units which provide between 110hp and 190hp, with a choice of six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmissions.

All-wheel drive comes as standard on the range-topping 2.0 TSI 190hp petrol and is available on the 2.0 TDI 150hp diesel. It features an integrated control unit that allows the system to engage all-wheel drive within fractions of a second when required, while in normal conditions it disengages and promotes efficiency in front-wheel drive. The optional Performance Package delivers enhanced traction on trickier terrain and slippery surfaces.

Comprehensive safety and driver assistance systems provide up to nine airbags in addition to a range of advanced driver assistance functions including Crew Protect Assist and Travel Assist.
