Basnett began his fleet career at Somerfield Stores Ltd, where he managed and ran a large commercial and private vehicle fleet as well as heading up and turning around the performance of the chain's home delivery service.

He joined TMC in 2013, as account director, from Fleet Operations Ltd where he was consultant fleet manager.

In his new role, he holds responsibility for the operational development of TMC's range of data-driven solutions for car and LCV fleets, which include fuel management (cards, mileage capture, audit and control), CO2 reporting, BIK Fuel optimisation, expenses management, mobility solutions and grey fleet compliance management.
