National Grid has extended its fleet management contract with Rivus to 2030 while incorporating additional services.

Rivus has consistenly provided fleet management services to National Grid since 2006

The two firms have worked since 2006 and National Grid has consistently reappointed Rivus through competitive tenders over the last two decades.

The deal spans National Grid’s 2,000-plus fleet of LCVs, HGVs, trailers and plant, which is critical to its business operations.

The renewed contract will add in accident management and vehicle build for the first time and will also see Rivus mobile technicians deliver in-house service, repair and maintenance (SMR), rather than using a third party, cutting vehicle offroad time while providing greater flexibility and choice of how vehicles are maintained. This will also provide National Grid with a single contact across its fleet management needs.

The work will also help continue National Grid’s industry-leading sustainability targets; its ambition is to become 100% net zero by 2030.

The Rivus SMR offering runs across 78 sites nationwide through its LCV and HGV specialist combined Garage Network – but it also has over 500 Approved Garage Partners and a UK-wide team of mobile technicians equipped to support fleet managers with the transition to electric vehicles.
