Prices revealed for Genesis G70 Shooting Brake

The Genesis G70 Shooting Brake has gone on sale in the UK, priced from £35,250 and bringing a rival to the BMW 3 Series Touring.

The G70 Shooting Brake is the fifth Genesis model to launch in the UK and its first designed specifically for Europe

It’s the fifth model to launch in the UK from Hyundai’s premium brand offshoot and joins the existing G70 saloon that it’s based on, as well as the G80 saloon and GV70 and GV80 SUVs. Three Genesis electric cars are also due before 2023.

As the brand’s first model designed for Europe, the G70 Shooting Brake reinforces its “clear dedication” to the region. It adopts the brand’s Athletic Elegance design philosophy with its signature quad lamps and the two line design, including a ‘floating’ integral spoiler at the rear.

The interior adopts a fighter jet cockpit appearance, while offering increased practicality compared to the saloon. Luggage space is up by 40% and the rear seats fold in a 40/20/40 format.

Three trim levels are available: Premium Line, Luxury Line and Sport Line. Full spec details are yet to be announced.

Engines comprise a 2.0-litre petrol or a 2.2-litre diesel, both with eight-speed auto and rear-wheel drive.

As with all Genesis models, customers of the G70 Shooting Brake will have a dedicated Personal Assistant and home delivery and collection – the brand is not running typical car showrooms – along with the Genesis Five-Year Care Plan, covering warranty, servicing, roadside assistance, courtesy car and mapping and over-the-air software.

“The G70 Shooting Brake is a truly unique vehicle designed and engineered specifically for European customers,” said Dominique Boesch, managing director, Genesis Motor Europe.

“With over a decade’s worth of development including a dedicated focus on European roads, the G70 Shooting Brake underlines our commitment to the region and its rich automotive history. Along with best-in-class technology, refined performance and assured safety, the model makes for a truly special European offering.”
