Most recently head of relationship management at Arval, he is best known to the manufacturers and vehicle dealers, although Chris also managed customers and operations during his 23 years with Arval in the UK.

Many industry figures were present at his funeral and tributes were paid to the strong relationships that Chris forged with all of his contacts and colleagues and the humour that he brought to all occasions.

In a statement, Arval said that Chris will be sadly missed.
