Places still available for fleet safety workshop

Organised by Brake, the workshop takes place on Wednesday 15 June at the Marriott Hotel, Northampton and will include a presentation from Dr Tony Leeds of Cambridge Weight Plan about the symptoms of sleep apnoea, how to detect the condition and methods of treatment.

In addition, Dr Paul Jackson of Clockwork Research will advise delegates on how to manage the risks associated with sleep apnoea, and Joan Pearce of Allied Bakeries will share the company's experience of implementing a sleep awareness training programme as part of their driver training.

In addition, the Fleet Safety Forum has produced two resources on driver tiredness and sleep apnoea, sponsored by Cambridge Weight Plan. The e-guidance, entitled "Sleep apnoea: guidance for fleet managers", gives detailed information about the condition sleep apnoea, signs and symptoms, and guidance on how to minimise risks.  The accompanying A3 poster aims to raise awareness amongst drivers of the dangers of driving tired.

The resource pack is available for FREE to the first 50 companies who order it. Thereafter it costs £7.45 plus p&p. The pack is also provided free of charge to members of Brake's Fleet Safety Forum.
