The revisions come hot on the heels of the updates to the 508 and introduce gloss black door mirrors to the entry-level Active Premium trim and the Allure and Allure Premium grades.

Meanwhile, the GT trim now gets a new interior upholstery, incorporating a half leather effect trim and copper stitching.

Both the 3008 and 5008 also get a 12.3-inch digital head-up instrument panel, a compact steering wheel for improved driving dynamics and, from Allure upwards, a 10-inch high definition capacitive colour touchscreen with Connected 3D Navigation, including a three-year subscription to TomTom Live updates and speedcam/danger zone alerts.

Latest driving aids and safety features on offer include Night Vision technology, which allows drivers to view pedestrians and animals on the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel up to 200m, beyond the scope of the headlights. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Positioning Assist are also available.

Engine line-up for the 3008 is carried over and includes two plug-in hybrids: the Hybrid 225 with front-wheel drive and the all-wheel drive Hybrid4 300, both with a 11% BiK rate for the current tax year. The line-up also includes petrol and diesel engines, with the option of an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Prices start from £27,905 for the 3008 130hp 1.2-litre petrol six-speed manual Active Premium, rising to £46,710 for the Hybrid4 300 e-EAT8 in GT Premium trim.

The 5008, which offers seven-seat practicality and up to 2,150 litres of boot space, is priced from £30,360 for the same 130hp 1.2-litre petrol. Its top model is the 180hp 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel, with the EAT8 automatic transmission and in GT Premium guise, priced at £41,190.
