Peugeot delivers first fleet order for low-emission high-performance 508 PSE

Peugeot has delivered its first fleet order for the new 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered plug-in hybrid performance car.

The four-wheel drive 508 PSE combines Peugeot’s motorsport knowhow with its expertise in electrification

The vehicles have been delivered to the Morelli Group – an independent automotive refinishing supplier and a long-standing Peugeot fleet customer – and support its plans to become carbon-neutral

Developed by Peugeot’s high-performance division, the four-wheel drive 508 PSE combines Peugeot’s motorsport knowhow with its expertise in electrification.

Available as a saloon or estate, the 508 PSE teams up an internal combustion engine with two electric motors, delivering 360hp of power, along with up to 26 miles of WLTP electric-only range, putting it in the 13% Benefit-in-Kind rate for 2021/22.

The 11.5kWh lithium-ion battery can be charged in less than seven hours using a standard domestic socket, or via a 7kW wallbox for a full charge in under two hours. The battery is also guaranteed by an eight-year/100,000 mile warranty.

Rob Cohen, Morelli Group financial director, said: “We are working towards PAS 2060 and becoming carbon-neutral, and our fleet is a major aspect of this process. The delivery of our first Peugeot 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered for one of our sales directors is very exciting. This vehicle takes the proportion of our passenger fleet powered by EV/hybrid to above 15%.

“We will also be working very closely with Stellantis as we convert our commercial vehicles to electric vehicles in the coming years. Stellantis has been our preferred CV partner for over 20 years and we look forward to continuing this partnership for many more to come.”

Graham Smales, corporate sales manager, Peugeot UK, said: “We’re delighted the Morelli Group have chosen the new 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered to continue their low-emission vehicle fleet ambition. The team of engineers that worked on the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered is the same team working on our motorsport programmes. This means they will enjoy a high-performance vehicle, made with technical excellence, using environmentally friendly technology and producing low BiK rates.”
