Ogilvie storms past fleet leasing milestone after record growth

Ogilvie Fleet has raced past the 20,000-vehicle milestone for the first time after a year of record growth.

Ogilvie has invested in its people and tech-driven applications and software systems in the last year to support growth

The independent leasing company has grown its fleet 9% in the last year, rising to over 22,000 on-risk vehicles – and 25,000 with fleet-managed vehicles included.

Growth has largely been fed by referrals from its existing customer base and Ogilvie Fleet now manages the fleets of 700 SMEs.

Gordon Stephen, managing director of Ogilvie Fleet, commented: “The ongoing investment in our people to maintain our customer-centric approach has been a long-term commitment for Ogilvie Fleet. To see it result in another year of successive growth and to surpass the milestone of a risk fleet of 22,000 vehicles is a source of huge pride to the whole team.”

He continued: “One of the biggest drivers of this growth was the creation of our brand-new Driver Liaison Team, which has directly helped over 300 drivers order their new vehicles, whilst taking some of the most time-consuming aspects of fleet management off the desks of our customers.”

The new Driver Liaison Team allows drivers to liaise directly with the team to aid their switch to a new vehicle – often to electric for the first time.

The team also supports the firm’s focus on a flexible and transparent approach to building customer relationships, supporting its customer retention rate of 98%. Last year saw Ogilvie recognised for its leading efforts with the Innovation in Customer Service accolade at the 2023 Great British Fleet Awards.

The last year has also seen Ogilvie’s Salary Sacrifice team double in size and its daily rental team grow by 40% to keep up with demand.

Alongside the investment in people, Ogilvie Fleet has continued to expand its range of tech-driven applications and software systems that it provides to both customers and the open market. These include the Happy Drivers mobile app, the MiNextEV electric vehicle database and the time-saving lead time generator tool.

Gordon Stephen remarked: “Primarily, we ensure our customers have easy access to both our experienced staff and our suite of timesaving of tools to make their lives as fleet managers and company drivers as easy as possible.

“Providing excellent customer service is the number one business objective of Ogilvie Fleet. It’s an approach that has got us to this incredible point, and one which will see us continue towards meeting our ambitious growth targets in the years to come.”
