Nissan Juke gets plusher interior and iconic yellow paint job

Nissan has treated its Juke urban crossover to a midcycle refresh, complete with technology and interior upgrades.

The iconic yellow paint job returns on the updated Juke urban crossover

The second-generation model launched in 2019 and scored its best year for sales in 2023, boosted by the arrival of a hybrid powertrain.

The latest changes for the Ford Puma rival drive its appeal in a fiercely competitive marketplace.

The updates centre around connectivity, quality, interior design and safety, while carrying over the existing distinctive styling.

Interior revisions include a redesigned centre console and instrument panel, boosting ergonomics and functionality.

The cabin also gains new materials, trims and upgraded fit and finish. Equipment upgrades bring a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless charging pad for higher-grade models, along with improved voice recognition and new features for the infotainment system.

Other changes include the addition of both USB-A and USB-C charging points and a larger glovebox. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also now available.

Nissan is also reintroducing a yellow exterior colour option, following its popularity on the first-generation Juke.

The new-look model also dials up the styling with a new N-Sport grade, which comes with a black roof to contrast the yellow paint job, paired with black wheels, door mirrors, wheel arch inserts, grille and A- and B-pillars. The interior carries over the eye-catching theme, with yellow recycled Alcantara inserts to match the new exterior paint and finished with yellow stitching.

Styling changes across the range include a new Pearl White colour choice and wheel trim options.

Additional driver assistance technologies debut and include Intelligent Driver Alertness as standard. Lane Keep Assist is an option, and standard on the Tekna grade upwards.

Powertrains are carried over and include the 114hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch paddle-shift transmission, and a driving mode selector (Eco, Standard, Sport).

The line-up also carries over the hybrid, which marries up a 94hp 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 49hp electric motor, a starter generator and a 1.2kWh battery, delivering a total 143hp of power – up 25% on the petrol while also providing a fuel consumption reduction of up to 20% on the WLTP combined cycle. It’s fitted with pure EV Mode functionality and e-Pedal regenerative braking. Official emissions are 109-110g/km.

All grades of Juke are now equipped with an electric handbrake.

The updated Juke is now in production at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, built on the second production line, alongside Qashqai. Prices are yet to be announced.
