New resources to help champion fleet heroes for Road Safety Week

Brake has published new resources to help organisations and individuals celebrate their road safety heroes for Road Safety Week 2021.

Road Safety Week 2021 takes place 15-21 November and will pay tribute to the heroic work of road safety campaigners, professionals, individuals and organisations across the UK

This year’s Road Safety Week campaign takes place between 15 and 21 November and will pay tribute to the heroic work of road safety campaigners, professionals, individuals and organisations across the country. Each day will shine a light on specific groups of heroes – with Thursday 18 November set aside for fleets, businesses and employers.

Brake’s new PR and social media toolkit provides numerous ideas for activity in Road Safety Week, including ways to share stories of road safety heroes – internally, externally, or both – during the week itself. From sharing videos on social media, to tweeting and tagging, or publishing a blog on the Road Safety Week website, about the role they and/or your organisation have in promoting safe travel.

Organisations are also invited to join Brake for a Safe Tee Day on Friday 19 November, wearing their brightest t-shirts and sharing a photo.

Fleets can also fundraise for Brake by running a Safe Tea Day and sharing a cuppa or bake sale with your team.

Jason Wakeford, head of campaigns at Brake, said: “Road Safety Week inspires thousands of schools, organisations and communities to shout out for our right to make safe and healthy journeys every day. It also provides a great opportunity for anyone working in road safety to get more people involved with their work.”
