New Lex Autolease technology to simplify end-of-contract process

The iPad technology is designed to provide clarity and consistency for both customers and vehicle inspectors, with Lex adding that it will go beyond the BVRLA standards currently used across the industry.

Technology includes full video footage and images of end-of-contract inspections and any damage found, which will now be available to customers. A simplified pricing structure around damage types will be published in full for customers in advance of their contract expiring. The pricing matrix details all charges by vehicle size and damage type, and will empower customers to make informed decisions around whether to undertake repairs on a vehicle before its return.

Invoicing for damage and movement will be automated, and customers can opt in to a series of alerts to be kept fully informed of each stage of the dehire process.

All of the enhanced technology will be available for Lex Autolease customers to access through the newly improved LAi information portal. In a dedicated End of Contract area, customers can find FAQ documents, BVRLA guides to fair wear and tear and self-appraisal tools to make the process even more transparent.

The move comes after extensive consultation with drivers and fleet managers to enhance their experience of clarity of process, timely communications and potential damage charges.
