Currently live in the Apple store in beta testing, the Digital Garage app uses licence plate data to bring up real-time data about that car. The app can then work out the likely cost of repairs for that specific model; provide alerts for when tax, insurance, servicing and MOT are due and provide details on annual cost of ownership and likely second-hand value.

It will also tell you the real-time, personalised running costs of the car, taking into consideration driving style and frequency to provide an accurate costs.
