The self-financing charity manages more than 6,000 acres of parks, landscapes and lakes, and also organises more than 500 events each year.

The new Volkswagen ID.3s, liveried with the customer’s logo and supplied by VWFS Fleet in Milton Keynes, replace a previous fleet of four EVs.

The cars will provide practical day-to-day transport for the team while supporting the Parks Trust’s efforts to be a carbon-neutral organisation by 2030.

The vehicles have already proved well received by drivers. Play area manager Natalie Dewhirst, whose job involves inspecting all the Trust’s play areas, commented: “Our new fleet of Volkswagen ID.3s have been wonderful to drive; the cars have a huge range of smart features that make the driving experience really comfortable.

“The Volkswagen ID.3’s battery is great and the mileage range is ample so I know I won’t need to consider stopping or going out of my way to charge the car, allowing me the freedom to get on with my day.”

Amanda Harris, inside sales executive at VWFS | Fleet, who was responsible for advising on specification, finance and maintenance packages, said: “I’m really pleased that the team are enjoying the electric driving experience. For the potential cost saving, electric is really worth looking at, even for small- to medium-sized businesses that use vehicles frequently throughout the day.

“Add to that the benefit to the environment in your local community and it can make a really powerful statement about your business.”
