Geraint Isaac has joined MG in the newly created position of national fleet sales manager as the carmaker looks to grow its fleet presence.

As part of its mid-term growth plan, the carmaker is looking to expand in the fleet and local business sales market, and the new role – and current and forthcoming model launches – will support this.

Isaac, who brings more than 25 years of industry experience, will work with the expanding MG dealer network, as well as major fleet operators, to create packages to serve clients’ requirements. He will also be responsible for vehicle remarketing, residual values and co-ordinating MG’s dealer fleet programmes.

Isaac was most recently at Hyundai Motors UK, initially as fleet operations manager, before becoming national residual value and remarketing manager. He also brings a background in managing business to business sales and fleet aftersales development at Vauxhall.

MG’s fleet plans are also underpinned by its expanding model line-up and dealer network. The brand’s current line-up consists of the MG3 hatchback, ZS compact SUV and the all-electric ZS while the Qashqai-rivalling HS is set to launch later this month.

MG is also continuing to expand its dealership network, with more than 100 sites now open and plans for 120 operational dealerships by the end of 2020.

Geraint Isaac said: “As the UK’s fastest growing car manufacturer, MG has a great opportunity to reach the business and fleet markets with its exciting range of efficient, spacious and well-equipped vehicles. I am keen to build organic, sustainable growth in our fleet sales, capitalising on the enormous interest we have had in both the all-electric ZS EV and the upcoming all-new MG HS C-segment SUV.

“The MG brand has great historical significance and it’s a privilege to join the company at such a key time in its development. I look forward to working with our fantastic dealerships across the country and building relationships with staff and customers alike to support our growth in the fleet environment.”

Daniel Gregorious, head of sales & marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “Developing our fleet and business sales is a key objective for MG, as part of our Momentum & Growth mid-term plan. We’re delighted to welcome Geraint to our team to take the lead on working to achieve this. We’ve got a fantastic range of cars, and with ZS EV and more zero-emissions cars in the pipeline, we can help businesses and fleets to meet their budgetary and environmental targets.”
