Designed to complement the physical auction programme, Manheim Online is offering a number of closed events throughout February and will be launching its open event programme from 1st March 2014. In addition, the “Bid & Buy Now” functionality enables dealers to purchase stock 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the Manheim Remarketing website.

Commenting on the new system, Nigel Paling, online operations director at Manheim, said: ‘Online purchasing is on the rise, with traffic to the Manheim Remarketing website increasing by 29.4% in the last quarter of 2013, compared with Q3. In line with dealer and trade feedback, we have taken the opportunity to redevelop and upgrade our direct sales channel in order to further support buyers looking for 24/7 access to stock alongside the traditional sales programme.

‘There has been a significant upsurge in the sourcing of vehicles via online channels, with a 34% growth in units sold through Manheim’s Simulcast platform between 2012 and 2013. We’ve designed Manheim Online to complement the physical auction programme and provide dealers with access to good quality vehicles and the Manheim trade team’s expertise from any location via desktop, tablet and mobile devices,’ he added.
