Kia Sportage updated for 2017
Kia’s new Sportage is to receive a number of updates for 2017 including new trims and a 1.7 DCT powertrain.
The Sportage gains GT Line S and KX-5 Sportage models for 2017 as well as the option of the 1.7 CRDi engine with seven-speed auto DCT on ‘2’ and ‘3’ grades.
Launched in February 2016, the fourth-generation model now gains new ‘GT Line S’ and ‘KX-5’ models. New GT-Line S builds on the success of the GT-Line model, adding in features including a heated steering wheel, headlamp washers, bi-xenon headlamps, smart park assist system. The trim will be paired with the high-powered 2.0 CRDi six-speed auto and the 1.6 T-GDi 7-speed auto DCT powertrains.
At the top of the range, the new KX-5 trim replaces the previous ‘First Edition’. Available with a 2.0 CRDi engine and six-speed automatic transmission, this includes two-tone leather upholstery, electronic parking brake and wireless phone charging.
Other changes see upgrades to paint options while the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is now available with the 1.7 CRDi engine on ‘2’ and ‘3’ grades. MY17 Sportage also has an upgraded multimedia system from the ‘2’ grade and above offering a number of key improvements such as 3D Mapping, SD map updates, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
