Greater corporate compliance focus drives Licence Bureau milestone
A growing focus by fleets on corporate compliance has helped Licence Bureau reach its three millionth licence check just 20 months after celebrating the two millionth milestone.
Malcolm Maycock said compliance is now higher on company agendas than ever before.
According to DVLA data, Licence Bureau’s volume of licence checks moved from two million to three million checks between June 2016 and February 2018. Its previous growth from one to two million checks took 35 months and its first million a decade.
Malcolm Maycock, Licence Bureau’s managing director, said there had been a number of contributing factors for the speed in which the company had reached the latest milestone, including the substantial reduction in licence checking fees, the ability to source results immediately and the introduction of convictions online only, as well as a growing focus on the forthcoming GDPR legislation.
“We are now just waiting for the DVLA to give the industry its final guidance in March 2018 which will help us get employers ready for the 25 May GDPR deadline,” he added.
