Ford Tourneo Connect & Grand Tourneo Connect gain new engines & tech

The changes, announced alongside similar updates for Ford's Transit Connect van, see the people carriers gain the new 1.5‑litre TDCi diesel engine equipped with Auto-Stop-Start on and offered with 98bhp or 118bhp.

CO2 emissions start from 111g/km and fuel economy from 65.7mpg – a 7% improvement over the outgoing 1.6-litre TDCi engine.

Ford’s 118bhp 1.5-litre TDCi diesel with six-speed PowerShift transmission is also being made available on Titanium models.

The five-seat Tourneo Connect also is available with the 98bhp 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine equipped with Auto-Stop-Start, which is now Euro 6 compliant and offers combined fuel consumption of 50.4mpg and 129g/km CO2 emissions.

The models are also being updated with new safety tech including Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Keeping Aid, and offer Ford’s voice-activated SYNC 2 connectivity system and the MyKey technology.

Pricing for the updated models has not been announced yet.
