Fleet World Fleet: Škoda Karoq SE L 1.5-Litre TSI 150PS
John Challen assesses the Karoq’s storage space.

The Karoq has an array of onboard storage bins
A recent conversation with someone looking for a new family car got me thinking the other day. For many, brand snobbery seems to feature less and less the more and more children that are added into the mix. Suddenly, the badge on the front of the car doesn’t seem to matter as much because you’re too busy obsessing over what’s inside. You research child seat fixtures and fittings, how easy it is to pick up dropped toys/drinks while on the move and calculate interior space. Never mind the golf clubs, the big question is whether the buggy – and all the associated paraphernalia – fits in the boot!
Škoda has developed somewhat of a reputation for large boots over the years. I remember running an Octavia more than a decade ago and being gobsmacked at the space available. So that’s one box ticked. But in and around the passenger seats there are handy cubby holes now all over the place. While cleaning out the Karoq I realised that I – or rather we – had managed to fill a fair few with assorted items, but there were plenty more untouched.
The availability of these storage spaces is nearly always a good thing, the exception being if you’ve put something somewhere to keep it ‘safe’ and then forget which of the countless bins you’ve stored it in!
