The role will see Maclachlan take on responsibility across the firm’s fleet business, including the development and implementation of the company’s UK fleet strategy. This includes the purchase and disposal of Europcar’s UK fleet, as well as the optimisation of vehicles while they are on the fleet, ensuring that customers have access to the right vehicle for every journey.

The role is seen as a natural progression from the head of fleet procurement position that Maclachlan has held for the last five years.

“I aim to ensure that Europcar continues to offer a wide choice of vehicles, with the flexibility travellers need,” said Maclachlan. “As well as investing in hybrid and electric vehicles, I will be focusing on the streamlining the end of rental process to provide a better customer experience.”
