Now in its eight year, the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards identifies organisations, suppliers and manufacturers that have successfully reduced fuel bills and lowered carbon footprints through better transport policies and improved fleet efficiency.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 28th November at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in London. Baroness Kramer, Transport Minister, will attend along with other notable business leaders and government stakeholders.

This year’s awards attracted nearly 100 entries from private and public sector fleets.

Philip Sellwood, chief executive of the EST, said: ‘This year we’ve had a fantastic response, so choosing the shortlist proved to be a difficult task! We do, however, have an extremely strong collection of organisations, suppliers and manufacturers that have impressed the judges with their commitment to green fleet management. We look forward to celebrating their success at the awards ceremony in November.’

The 13 award categories are: Best Public Sector Fleet sponsored by BT Fleet; Best Business Sector Fleet sponsored by Lombard Vehicle Solutions; Plugged-in Fleets Award sponsored by EDF Energy; Grey Fleet Management sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Business Mileage Management sponsored by Route Monkey;  Smarter Driving Award sponsored by BMW ; Industry Supplier Award;  Transport Solutions Supplier of the Year; Innovation in Car & Van Manufacturing; Innovation in Fleet Services and Systems; Innovation in Fleet Management; Leadership Award; and Commercial Vehicle Management (including HGVs).
