Enterprise and Norfolk County Council tie up on new car club in Norwich

A new car club offering that provides business and private drivers with access to over 40 vehicles has opened in Norwich in partnership with Norfolk County Council.

Vehicles are available via 24/7 remote access and priced from £4.95 per hour, £39.95 daily and £0.21 per mile

Enterprise Car Club has taken over the running of the previous scheme, which had been running since 2010, and revamped it to bring a host of new benefits to both existing and new customers.

Vehicles on offer include cars and vans, all available via 24/7 remote access and priced from £4.95 per hour, £39.95 daily and £0.21 per mile. They’re located on streets across the city in special car club bays as well as at the Heigham Street Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch.

New benefits include an enhanced iOS and Android mobile app, which allows vehicles to be unlocked and locked from a mobile device. Membership now starts from age 19 and comes with no minimum monthly spend. Vehicles also undergo cleaning said to be meticulous and carried out every 10 days.

Once signed up, customers will have access to the full Enterprise Car Club scheme, totalling some 1,500 cars and vans located in more than 180 cities, towns and communities across the UK. These include cars parked within 500 metres of 180 railway stations.

Cllr Martin Wilby, cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and transport, said: “Having access to sustainable transport options is vital in our target to reduce carbon emissions across the county and our journey towards a net zero transport network so we’re excited to be working with Enterprise Car Club to provide this service to residents and visitors to Norfolk.

“It’s a great option for those who may arrive here via public transport as well as those who live or work in Norwich and want the freedom of having a car without the expense of owning a vehicle.”
